This route is for applicants wishing to enter the U.K for temporary work and do not intend to base themselves in the U.K
There are five sub Categories:
Creative & Sporting
Charity Workers
Religious Workers
Government Authorised Exchanges
International Agreement – Youth Mobility Schemes
The applicant must have both a sponsor and certificate of sponsorship
The sponsor needs to be registered as a Licensed Sponsor to meet the requirements of Sub- Category Tier 5 (Temporary worker) and must assign a Certificate of Sponsorship to the applicant, before applying for Entry Clearance.
Points can be claimed for attributes like certificate of sponsorship (30 pts) and maintenance funds (10 pts)
MAINTENANCE FUNDS: The primary applicant would have to show a maintenance fund of GBP 800/ held in his / her savings account for a minimum period of 3 months unless a “A” rated sponsor is willing to accommodate him Also, each dependant accompanying the applicant must have at least GBP 533/- It is best to show funds for the entire period of stay as this route does not provide access to public funds
The period of grant of visa would be12 months for Creative & Sporting people and charity workers. The exception to the above rule for Creative workers only is that they can extend their stay for another 12 months (totally 24 months) if remaining with the same sponsor.
For Religious workers, Government Authorised Exchanges and International agreements it would be 24 months.
