This route is for internationally established sports people and coaches at the highest level wishing to come to the U.K and make a substantial contribution to the development of their particular sport and who intend to base themselves in the U.K
The applicant would need a U.K organization (more often termed a “sponsor”) to offer you employment. The employer in turn needs to have registered as a Licensed Sponsor. The sponsor will need to assign you with a Certificate of sponsorship before you can apply for Entry Clearance (Visa) with the local British diplomatic Post in your area of residence. You would also have to claim a total of 70 points in terms of sponsorship Certificate (50 pts), English Language (10 pts) and maintenance funds (10pts) by using the Self-assessment tool.

To claim 10 points for the maintenance funds section you need to have an amount of GBP 800/- for main applicant and GBP 533/- for each dependant applying with you OR a commitment letter from a “A”rated employer that they will be maintaining and accommodation you for the 1st month, which must be mentioned in the certificate of sponsorship.
The visa will be issued for 3 years or until the term mentioned in the Certificate of sponsorship whichever is earlier.
