Home Office Totally Revamps Criteria For HSMP - 7th Nov 2006

Effective nov 7th 2006 Home office has totally revamped the criteria for HSMP. They have removed the "Work Experience" criteria which was a "bete noir" for quite a few people. Also, stand deleted are the "Acheivement / Spouse Acheivement criteria. Under the new criteria, the younger you are the more points you score and the threshold for scoring points in the age segment has been raised to 31 years. Points are also awarded to much lower salaries, ranging from 5 points to 45 points in the Earnings segment. The MBA criteria from designated universities stands unchanged. A brand new segment "UK EXPERIENCE" has been introduced and allows you to score a maximum of 5 points, if you have graduated from a British university or
have been earning in the U.K. High Emphasis on English Proficiency Instituted. The qualifying points have been raised to 75.

The Home Office proposes to be very specific and stringent of the documentary evidence that is required for a successful application, under the new HSMP Programme. Based on this fact, we firmly believe such applications will have to be most diligently prepared and comprehensive attention to detail in respect of the necessary evidence is now increasingly essential if a positive outcome is to be achieved. Our extensive experience in preparing and submitting HSMP applications, and our very successful track record this far, stands us in good stead to continue to be your advisors under the new scheme too.
