CHANGES TO PBS TIER 1 YET AGAIN!!! 19-7-2010

Following an earlier announcement by the UK Home Secretary, Theresa May, a few important changes have come into effect for Tier 1 (General) applicants today, 19 July 2010.

1) A month wise numerical limit has been instituted on an interim basis from today until 31st march 2011. In lay man’s terms this means that only a specific limit of Tier 1 fresh applications will be processed every month. Once the limit has reached the remaining applications will be rolled over to the following month purely on a first come first serve basis.
2) The points criteria has been raised from 75 to 80, plus the mandatory points required for English language & maintenance funds. So an applicant needs to score 80+10+10
3) An additional 5 points has been awarded to applicants with an MBA from prescribed Colleges & universities.
4) An additional 5 points has been awarded to applicants with earnings in excess of GBP 150,000/-

All these changes are applicable only for fresh applicants applying from outside the U.K
